Terms of Use

1. Acceptance and definitions

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

In these Terms: "EdgeBeacon", "we", "us", and "our" refer to EdgeBeacon, operated by the founder pending formation of a legal entity. A formal entity will be established and named in these Terms before any paid subscription is offered. "You" and "your" refer to the individual user. "Signals" means the market-condition alerts and related data we publish through the Service.

2. What EdgeBeacon is — and what it is not

EdgeBeacon is an informational tool. We surface market-condition Signals derived from quantitative analysis of historical market data. That is the entirety of the Service.

EdgeBeacon does not:

• provide personalised financial, investment, tax, or legal advice;
• recommend that you buy, sell, or hold any specific security;
• execute trades, hold customer funds, or custody assets;
• act as a broker, dealer, investment adviser, or financial intermediary;
• guarantee any specific outcome, return, or forecast.

Signals are historical pattern observations and are not individualized to your financial situation, objectives, portfolio, tax position, or risk tolerance. Position sizing, entry timing, exits, risk management, and every trading decision are yours alone.

Some parts of the Service display third-party market data and news headlines (for example, index quotes and finance-press stories sourced from providers such as Finnhub and Financial Modeling Prep). Third-party data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or subject to change without notice. EdgeBeacon does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for the accuracy or timeliness of any third-party item displayed through the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

The Service is intended for users in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, and the United States (including California residents). If you access the Service from a jurisdiction where its use is restricted or unlawful, it is your responsibility to comply with local law. We may restrict access from particular jurisdictions at our discretion.

4. Account terms

• You must provide accurate, current information when registering.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• One account per person. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
• You must notify us promptly at hello@edgebeacon.pro if you suspect unauthorised access.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

5. Your responsibilities

You acknowledge and agree that:

• every trading or investment decision you make is your own;
• you will independently evaluate any Signal before acting on it;
• you are solely responsible for any profits, losses, taxes, or other consequences of your trading activity;
• you will seek independent financial, tax, or legal advice where appropriate.

6. Risk acknowledgement

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of your entire principal. You can lose more than you expect, and historical patterns can fail without warning.

Any past-performance figures, backtests, or simulated results shown on the Service are not guarantees of future results. Backtests reflect how a Signal would have behaved on historical data; live markets behave differently. Signals are historical pattern recognition, not forecasts, and any historical metric we publish (CAGR, hit rate, lift) can change as underlying data is revised.

You should not rely on EdgeBeacon as your sole source of information when making investment decisions.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service by automated means;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code or signal logic;
• circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other technical controls;
• resell, redistribute, or sublicense Signals or other Service content;
• use the Service to develop a competing product;
• use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including market manipulation, insider dealing, or money laundering;
• upload malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation.

8. Intellectual property

EdgeBeacon, the underlying signal engine, the Signals themselves, the website, branding, and all related materials, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial investment research. You may not republish, redistribute, or share Signals with third parties.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service — including Signals, conviction scores, backtest figures, and any third-party market data or news headlines displayed through the Service — is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EdgeBeacon, its officers, directors, employees, and contractors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including, without limitation, trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) £100 GBP or (b) the total fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including (without limitation) liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, willful or intentional misconduct, and any statutory rights of a consumer that cannot be waived in the user's jurisdiction. Where a limitation in these Terms is not enforceable in a particular jurisdiction, the limitation will apply to the maximum extent allowed there.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold EdgeBeacon, its officers, directors, employees, and contractors harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (i) your use of the Service; (ii) your breach of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (iv) your trading or investment activity.

11. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@edgebeacon.pro or using the in-product account-deletion control once available.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created risk for us or other users, or used the Service unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including risk acknowledgement, intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

12. Beta-specific terms

EdgeBeacon is currently in open beta. During the beta period:

• the Service is free to use;
• features may change, break, or be removed without notice;
• we offer no service-level agreement, no uptime guarantee, and no support response-time commitment;
• data, Signals, and historical figures may be revised as we refine the engine;
• we may discontinue the beta or any specific feature on reasonable notice.

You use the beta with the understanding that it is a work-in-progress informational tool, not a production financial service.

13. Pricing changes

We are planning to introduce a paid subscription at an indicative price of £199 per year. This price is provisional and may change before paid launch. We will notify registered users by email of confirmed pricing and the effective date before any fees are charged. No fees will be charged automatically without your prior consent.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are interim and were issued before an EdgeBeacon legal entity was formed. Governing law and the forum for disputes will be specified in the lawyer-reviewed version of these Terms published before paid launch. In the meantime, mandatory consumer-protection laws of the user's place of residence apply where they cannot be waived.

Before starting any formal proceedings, we both agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. Contact us at hello@edgebeacon.pro with the details of your complaint and we will respond within 30 days.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you by email and by posting the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you may close your account.
